From the moment you make your way out of the downtown leg of the race, you’ll be surrounded by the natural beauty and enchanting landscapes of Fort Collins. The course offers a perfect balance between long, flat stretches, and uphill and downhill legs, meaning you’ll be pushed to your limits in all the right ways.
What Makes Our Scenic 10k So Special?
This scenic out-and-back course begins in Downtown Fort Collins. Along the course, you’ll pass by beautiful ponds and other natural features that are both breathtaking and inspiring. During your run, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife like eagles, foxes, squirrels, and different species of birds. Once you reach the highest point of the 10k course, you’ll turn around and head back downtown, where you’ll cross the finish line. Nothing beats heading back downhill after a climb! So, lace up those shoes and get ready to enjoy the best that Colorado has to offer.
What to Know About Running Our 10K Race
Get ready to feel cool and confident as you tackle the epic 10k in beautiful Fort Collins! Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of this amazing race:
The 10k race starts at 7:00 am near Washington Park on North Howes Street. There is no bus pick-up for this race and parking is available at the Civic Center Parking Garage on the Southeast corner of Mason and Laporte (281-299 Laporte Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80521).
Elevate your game with high-altitude running! This out-and-back race starts in Downtown Fort Collins and ascends to an elevation of 5,040 feet before the downhill leg of the race. Be sure to acclimate to the elevation beforehand. Hydration is crucial, so drink up and stay refreshed!
Get ready to fly downhill. While the first half of the course includes flat and uphill sections, you’ll descend downhill from the turn-around point back into downtown to cross the finish line. Just remember to pace yourself and use proper techniques to avoid any mishaps. Need some guidance? Learn how to master downhill running.
